Tegopoulos Cotton Mill
“Greek Spinning Mills of Tegopoulos Jr.” (1935). An industrial building that serves as a hub for the region, known for its excellent working conditions — S. Tegopoulos was the first to implement the eight-hour workday.
Eriourgia Britannia
“Britannia S.A., English Woolen Mill in Greece” (1931), manufacturer of woolen fabrics. On the banks of the Podoniftis River, with a workforce consisting mainly of refugee women. It suspended operations in 2007.
N. Military Factory Chalkidona
It was built in 1949 to retread Army tires. It was transferred to the municipality in 1989 and today serves as a cultural venue.
Refugee Settlement
Construction began in 1923 in Podoniftis and was completed in 1927. Built in the style of an English garden city, it preserves representative examples of refugee housing.
"Filio Chaidemenou" Museum of Asia Minor Hellenism
The cornerstone of the city’s history and culture. An exceptional collection of artifacts from Asia Minor that were saved during the dramatic events of the Asia Minor Catastrophe.
Monument to the People of Asia Minor
A bronze sculpture group consisting of ten standing figures, created by sculptor Christos Mellos (1995). The team is standing on the shores of M. Asia, facing the Aegean Sea.
Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary (Panagitsa)
It was founded in 1930 by refugees. It was inaugurated in 1936. Among the relics is the blessed hand of St. Basil, Archbishop of Caesarea.
OEK Workers' Housing Complex
A typical example of postwar public housing, which provided homes for working-class families in the area.
