"Andreas Papandreou" World Cultural Foundation for Hellenism in the Diaspora
A cultural organization of the Municipality of Nea Filadelfia–Nea Chalkidona, serving as a bridge of communication with Greeks in the Diaspora.
The Municipality of Nea Filadelfia was led to establish the World Cultural Foundation of Hellenism in the Diaspora (Government Gazette 811B/September 8, 1997) out of a need for two-way communication and cooperation on cultural matters with Greeks of the Diaspora, through joint cultural initiatives.
The Foundation is headquartered in Nea Filadelfia, a city historically founded by Greeks displaced from Asia Minor.
The P.P.I.E.D. and the Museum of Hellenism in Asia Minor are housed in a building that combines neoclassical and modern elements, as it was redesigned through the renovation of the pre-existing Dexamene building, and is located at the intersection of 152 Dekeleias Street and 2 Attaleias Street. The Ecumenical Patriarch, His All-Holiness Bartholomew, inaugurated the start of the renovation work on May 23, 1999.
The building blends harmoniously into its surroundings (Nea Filadelfia Park) and meets the needs of today’s users.
