The history of a city can be read through the names of its streets and squares.
The Street Names of the Municipality of Nea Filadelfeia – Nea Chalkidona set out to record the life of the Municipality: its birth, its expansions and, overall, its cultural journey. It is an archive from which we draw information on the social and ideological course of the Municipality and on the personalities who contributed to the town at specific moments of its history, and who ultimately shape its image as it is today.
The aim of the publication is to strengthen the historical awareness of the city’s residents, given that most of the street names are of Asia Minor origin. Through the Street Names, it also seeks to preserve the history of our city in the memory of future generations.
