This educational game is an alternative museum education programme for visits to the “Filio Chaidemenou” Museum of Asia Minor Hellenism. Drawing inspiration from History, as a science that produces knowledge through traces and requires the historian’s imagination to connect the evidence, combined with play as a problem-solving activity with an entertaining approach and learning objectives, it invites children to explore the Asia Minor past. With engagement, research, collaboration and discovery as its goals, the programme aims to equip children with new tools for interpreting the past and the present.
Guided by an exploration map of the Museum, and within a hypothetical scenario, they play to discover known and unknown stories of the women and men of Asia Minor, searching among traces. Guided by an exploration map of the Museum, and within a hypothetical scenario, they play to discover known and unknown stories of the women and men of Asia Minor, searching among traces. They will process information, exercise their critical thinking, draw conclusions, and piece together the stories of the Museum, of Asia Minor and of the refugees. Along the way, they will discover how the remnants of the past become traces, both inside and outside the Museum. Where will the traces lead them?
